Jeffrey Allen “Jeff” Jones, 59, of Brighton, IL, passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, in his home following a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.
He was born September 17, 1966 in Alton, IL to William Hayden Jones and Mary Elizabeth (Holley) Jones. Jeff married Kimberly Marie “Kim” Little in Liberty, IL, on September 30, 1995. He is survived by his wife of 30 years.
Jeff was a 1985 graduate of Southwestern High School of Piasa, IL. Jeff began his career with the Cope Plastic fabrication team on August 7, 1989. His work ethic was described as an excellent employee who was quiet and dependable. After 36 years, he retired on August 28, 2025. At the time of his retirement, Jeff held the title of master fabricator.
Jeff and Kim met on a blind date and quickly built a lifetime of memories. Jeff had a love of animals and all living creatures; their backyard is a wildlife haven. Jeff was an avid collector of breweriana and local history advertising memorabilia. He cherished having a cold beer with his friends. And he enjoyed going to concerts at the Wildey.
He is survived by his brother, Steve (Karen) Jones of Brighton, IL; his mother-in-law Ardis “Kay” Little of O’Fallon MO; his sister-in-law Terri (Ray) Moore of Camdenton, MO; his brother-in-law, Kevin (Rachel) Little of O’Fallon, MO; his sister-in-law Lori (Little) Smiley of Wilton Manors, FL; and his nieces and nephews, Gerald “Jerry” (Kristi) Dunnagan Jr, Holly Jones, Stephanie Berliew, Pat (Shaniece) Harrington, Jake Harrington, Christy Jones, Steven (Grace) Jones, Jered Moore, Jenna Moore, Mercedes Little, Bryce (Kate) Little, Blake Smiley, Carson Smiley, Serena Smiley.
He was proceeded in death by his father, William Hayden Jones; his mother, Mary Elizabeth (Holley) Jones; his sister, Sandra K. (Jones) Dunnagan; his brother-in-law, Gerald J Dunnagan Sr; and his father-in-law Gerald “Jerry” Little.
Private services will be held with a burial at Brighton Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, and in honor of Jeff’s love of animals, memorials may be made to Treehouse Wildlife Center 23956 Green Acres Rd, Dow, IL 62022.
