Jeffery Kelley

Jeffery Jeane Kelley, Sr., age 61 of Highland, IL, died Friday, August 1, 2025, at Highland Healthcare Center in Highland, IL.

He was born on Tuesday, August 6, 1963, in Highland, IL, the son of Edwin and Lola (nee Schauster) Kelley.

On Saturday, August 2, 1986, he married Lisa Lynn Tellor in Granite City, Illinois, who survives.

He was a member of St. Jacob United Church of Christ. He was also a member of National Association Letter Carriers.

Jeffery was born in Highland, Illinois, and found his roots in St. Jacob. A proud graduate of Triad High School, Class of 1981, he carved his path through years of dedicated work—first at Bergmann Taylor, then Basler Electric—before walking routes as a devoted letter carrier for the United States Postal Service in Collinsville, a role he held with steadfast loyalty for 39 years.

A true “Deadhead” at heart, Jeffery found rhythm in the winding sounds of the Grateful Dead, the roar of NASCAR tracks, and the timeless rock anthems of KSHE95 every Sunday. His spirit was fueled by music, movement, and meaningful connections.

Above all, Jeffery cherished the joy of traveling with his son and daughter-in-law — those journeys filled his soul. In September 2024, alongside his wife, he embarked on a two-week European adventure. Together, they wandered the sun-drenched landscapes of Spain and Italy and crossed the Mediterranean by ferry, collecting moments like postcards in the heart.

Jeff treasured the lifelong bond he shared with his childhood friends, his Dank Buds, as well as the special closeness he held with his cousins, & Godchildren, all of whom brought joy, comfort, and deep connection throughout his life.”
