Jeannette Droste

Jeannette Droste, 83, entered into eternal rest at 5:15 p.m. Saturday, December 26, 2015 with her family by her side. Born September 28, 1932 in Alton, she was the daughter of Gertrude and Daniel Maher. On July 10, 1954 in Alton, she married David L. Droste; he preceded her in death on January 31, 2012. She was a member of St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and retired from the Godfrey Post office. Surviving are five daughters and sons-in-law, and one son. Lynn & Mike Wickenhauser, Laura & David Dixon, Jenny & Tim Bonnell, Jane & Steve Bradshaw, Lisa & Dan Gentry, and son David J. Droste, 14 grandchildren, Matt (Sarah) Cress, Susie (Dan) Stephan, Stephen (Sarah) Wickenhauser, Amanda (Chris) Scoggins, Danielle (Aaron Kestler fiancé) Bonnell, Eric Wickenhauser, Leanne Bonnell, Kyle Bradshaw, Aaron Bonnell, Jamie Gentry, Katie Droste, and Greg, Jackie, and Mark Dixon, and 4 great grandchildren Joe, Luke and Fin Stephan and Harper Scoggins. She was preceded in death by one brother, Daniel Maher. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m. led by Father Jerry Wickenhauser. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Alton. Monsignor Kenneth Stephan will officiate.
