Edwardsville | Save
Jeanine M. Wilder, 86, of Edwardsville passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 18, 2020 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville. Jeanine was born on March 13, 1934 in Chicago, the daughter of the late Frank and Marguerite (Garde) Ostrowsky. While Jeanine worked at several jobs such as school cafeterias and Holiday Cleaners, her career was being a homemaker and mom who loved to take care of her family. She was a stranger to nobody, with a one-of-a-kind personality who always made people laugh. Jeanine was a member of Women of the Moose, the V.F.W. Women’s Auxiliary and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed watching and listening to St. Louis Cardinals Baseball and danced a mean polka with her husband back in the day. Her greatest love was her family whom she adored. Jeanine is survived by and will be missed by her five children: Debbie (Wayne) Reinneck of Edwardsville, Diane Rolens of Bethalto, Mark Wilder of Edwardsville (Janet Allen-DeToy), Merle (Julie) Wilder of Belleville, and Dean Wilder of Edwardsville; grandchildren: Jason (Stephanie) Reinneck, Kyle Reinneck (Bryan Llenas), Matthew DeToy, Joel DeToy, Carmen Wilder, Owen Wilder; great-grandchildren: Aubrey Rolens, Paige Rolens, Alexa Shreve, Evelyn Reinneck; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other close family and friends, as well as her Shih Tzu buddy, Stevie. In addition to her parents, Jeanine was preceded in death by her husband Clarence J. Wilder, whom she married on September 15, 1953; parents, Frank and Marguerite Ostrowsky; step-mom, Bertha Ostrowsky; brothers, Francis Ostrowsky, John Ostrowsky; sister, Louanne Harned; and grandson, Chad Rolens. In celebration of Jeanine’s life, a visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Clint Wisdom officiating at Irwin Chapel, 591 Glen Crossing Road in Glen Carbon. Burial will follow at St. James Cemetery in Edwardsville. Appropriate precautions regarding the pandemic will be respected.
