Jeanie Mae McCoy, 74, passed away at 3:12 pm on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at her residence.
She was born on May 25, 1949, in Alton, IL. the daughter of John "Bud" N. and Jane L. (Thomae) Doerr. Jeanie married Lee B. McCoy in Alton, on March 14, 1970, and he survives.
Jeanie was a member of Lovejoy United Presbyterian Church in Wood River. She was a former member of College Avenue Presbyterian Church and a 50 year member of Eastern Star. Jeanie enjoyed playing cards with her friends, working and volunteering for church, serving her community and spending time with her family and friends.
Along with her husband, Lee, she is survived by two daughters, Cherie Peake of Bradenton, FL. and Valerie J. McCoy of Bethalto; a brother, Steve (Sue) Doerr of Brighton; and a sister, Jill Hair of Bethalto. Jeanie was also a loving Grandma, Makka Mikki, Most Beautiful Aunt Jeanie, cousin and friend.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother-in-law, George Hair.
Per her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at 11 am, at Lovejoy United Presbyterian Church in Wood River. Reverend Daniel Ervin will officiate.
