Jeanette L. Woods, age 83, passed away at 10:20 pm. on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at her home with her family by her side.
She was born on September 5, 1926 in Alton, IL, the daughter of Victor & Hilda (Meissner) Crain.
She married David F. Woods on November 4, 1950 in Arkansas. He passed away on March 29, 2005.
She was a homemaker for most of her life. She loved riding horses, John "Duke" Wayne and puppies. She was very family oriented and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her children & and daughter-in-law, Dave & Mary Ann Woods of Bethalto, Susan Dever of Alton and Juanice Dixon of Cadiz, KY; thirteen grandchildren, Terry, Wendy, Shane, Rachel, David, Nathan, Michael, Amanda, Clint, Eric, Jake, Johna & Michael; twenty two great grandchildren; a sister, Joan Beckwith of Worden and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son-in-law, Tom Dixon, 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
Cremation graveside services will be Monday, September 14, 2009 at 11:00 am at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey with Pastor Charles West officiating for Jeanette and her husband David who passed away in 2005.
Memorials may be given to the St. Anthony's Hospice.
