Jeanette Bova

Jeanette R. Bova peacefully passed away on Monday, January 1, 2024, with her family by her side. Jeanette was born on October 12, 1924, to the late Lawrence and Kathryn Elizabeth (Baker) Grieshammer.

She married Joseph Bova on August 6, 1955, in Jefferson City, MO.

She is survived by her four children, Deborah (Dennis) Lewis, Joseph (Jindarat) Bova, Anthony (Jeannie) Bova, and Michelle Bell; 10 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren.

Right out of school she was employed at Curtis Wright for many years. She was a bucket and riveter in wings of planes during World War II. She got the position because they needed someone small.

She loved spending time with family and making many culinary items. She was famous for her cream puffs, rum cakes, homemade pizza, spaghetti sauce, and much more.

She was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph, two brothers, John Grieshammer and Lawrence Grieshammer, and three sisters, Kathryn Miller, Florence Carey, and Dorothy Zimmerle.

Visitation will take place Monday, January 8, 2024, from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. at Gress, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Brussels.

Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, January 8, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brussels.

Burial will follow at Criswell Cemetery in Golden Eagle.

Memorials can be made to Brussel’s American Legion Post 685, St. Mary’s Church, or Calhoun Nursing and Rehab Activity Fund.
