Jason Mugge
Alton | Save
In the early morning hours of September 17, 2025, Jason G. Mugge, 53, of Alton was called home.
Jason leaves behind two sons, Cody Mugge, 27, of East Alton, and Brandon Mugge, 16, of Godfrey. He also leaves behind his mother, Valorie Koeller of Godfrey, and sister, Jessica Koeller of Godfrey.
Jason was preceded in death by his father, Charles Lawrence Mugge in 2007, who welcomes Jason with open arms.
Jason was born and raised in Alton by both parents. He leaves behind many friends and family with broken hearts over this sudden loss.
Jason was a doer and did not often sit idle. He was always quick to lend a helping hand. You could rarely find Jason without a joke or smile; he was caring and adventurous. Jason always lived life on his own schedule and terms. He was a thrifty person, if there was a deal to be made or found you could bet he’d find it.
Along with his mother, children and sister, he is survived by a step-daughter, Karlie Mathews of Alton, his grandmother, Betty (Williamson) Mugge, uncles, David Mugge and Paul Mugge (Gail), and aunts, Mary Miles (John), Martha “Muff” Stamper (Kenneth), and Debora Kearbey (Cecil).
He was preceded in death by his father, grandfather, George Harold Mugge, and uncles, George E. Mugge, Carl Mugge and Kenneth Mugge.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 12:00 noon Monday, September 22, 2025 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Burial will be at Upper Alton Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the 5A’s Animal Shelter.
