Janice Kay Evans, 71, died at 9:15 a.m., Sunday, November 8, 2015 in the emergency room at Jersey Community Hospital.
She was born on February 10, 1944 one of six children born to Richard and Eldora (Young) Burrows.
Janice was a lifelong resident of Jerseyville, graduating in 1962 from Jersey Community High School.
She married Kenneth E. Evans on May 15, 1982 at the First Assembly of God Church in Jerseyville and together they have been blessed with 33 years of marriage.
Janice was an avid reader and enjoyed taking drives around town with her husband. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister and her family meant the world to her. There was never a birthday that passed without a phone call or a card from Janice, nor a noteworthy accomplishment that went without an acknowledgement – especially when it came to her grandchildren, whom she loved immensely.
Surviving are her husband, Kenneth Evans of Jerseyville; a son and daughter-in-law, Philip & Lorie Tewell of Jerseyville; three grandchildren, Philip Austin Tewell; Arielle Leanne Tewell; and Ashton Elizabeth Tewell ; her mother, Eldora Stiles of Jerseyville; a sister, Debra East of Jeseyville; three brothers and a sister-in-law, Gary Burrows of Jerseyville; Paul Burrows of Otterville; and Bruce & DiAna Burrows of O’Fallon, MO; along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Burrows and a brother, Ronald Lee Burrows.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m., Thursday, November 12, 2015 at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 10 a.m., Friday, November 13, 2015 at the First Assembly of God Church in Jerseyville with the Rev. Larry Hayes officiating.
Burial will take place at the Kane Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the First Assembly of God Church in Jerseyville.
