Janice A. “Jan” Cobine, 80, passed away at 10:10am on Saturday, January 6, 2018, at Alton Memorial Hospital in Alton.  She was born on April 23, 1937, in Marion, Illinois, the daughter of the late Clarence and Nellie (Clendenin) Emery.  She married Delbert “Del” Cobine on March 16, 1974, in Marion, and he survives.  Other survivors include two sons:  Jason Davis and his companion: Amy Harding of Wood River, Tim Cobine and his wife: LaDonna of Wood River, two daughters: Robin Blevins and her companion: John Sparrowk of Bethalto, Norma Veile and her husband: Darrell of Pennsylvania, nine grandchildren: Jeremiah Davis, Nathan Sandy, Christopher Blevins, Tori Hoffmann, Gina Nimmo, Rebekah Visco, Amanda Veile, Stacy May, Benjamin Cobine, twenty great grandchildren, one great – great grandchild, one sister: Brenda Hosmon of Marion, and her special friends: Debbie and Jack LaTempt and their sons: Kyle and Michael, and Judy Loyd.

Jan was formerly employed by Southwestern Bell later known as Illinois Bell as a service representative for ten years. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter: Cheryl Cobine and a son: Kevin Sandy.

In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 4pm to 8pm on Friday, January 12, 2018, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River.  Funeral services will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, January 13, 2018, at the funeral home.  Elder Judy Loyd will officiate.  Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
