Janet Stout

Janet M. Stout, 76, passed away at 10:00 am, on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at The loft in Canton, IL. 

She was born on September 18, 1947, in Florid, IL, the daughter of Delbert and Lorraine M. (Camdon) Davis. She married Robert Stout on May 19, 1966, in Plano, IL.  He preceded her in death. 

Throughout her life, Janet found joy in simple pleasures and dedicated herself to serving others. An accomplished seamstress, she poured her talent into quilting and sewing, creating beautiful pieces that brought comfort and warmth to many. Her compassionate heart led her to volunteer extensively within her church, where she shared her skills by teaching the ladies of Mount Carmel Baptist Church how to sew dresses for missionary missions. Janet's generosity knew no bounds as she also played a vital role in organizing Christmas shoeboxes for children overseas, spreading joy and love during the holiday season. 

Later in life, Janet embarked on a new chapter, moving to Hawaii with her son and son-in-law, Luke and Patrick. There, she continued her mission of service as a Deacon at EWA Community Church, touching the lives of the congregation with her unwavering faith and devotion.

Janet is survived by her children, Robert (Roxanne) Stout of Squires, MO, William (Kristi) Stout Grand Ridge, IL, and Lucas "Luke" (Patrick) Stout of Clearwater, FL; a brother, Leroy Davis of Princeton, IL; grandchildren, Richard R. Stout, Robert R. Stout, III, Samuel Stout, Rachel (Austin) Moran, and Dan Stout; along with one great-grandchild. 

Along with her husband, Robert, she was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Gerald, John, Larry, and Garry Davis; and sisters, Mary Lou Harms and Gloria Cook. 

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, from 9:00 am until the time of services at 11:00 am at the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Ramsey, IL. 

Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery In Mt. Carmel, IL. 

Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto is assisting the family with arrangements.

Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
