Janet R. Harvey, 65, passed away at 2:40pm on Monday, November 26, 2018, at her residence surrounded by her loving family while under the care of BJC Hospice.
She was born on September 16, 1953, in Alton, the daughter of the late Loyd and Mary Ann (Roberts) Cummings. She married Michael Harvey on March 23, 1990, in Morris, Illinois, and he survives.
Other survivors include three sisters and two brothers in law: Deborah and Doug Eyers of Brighton, Karen Cummings of Livingston, Cheryl and Bill Brock of Carrollton, two step siblings, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
Janet was formerly employed by the State of Illinois where she served in various capacities. She was a member of the Godfrey Church of the Nazarene.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step – mother: Maxine Cummings and two brothers: Michael Cummings and Steven Cummings.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. In celebration of her life, memorial visitation will be from 9am until time of services at 10am on Saturday, December 1, 2018, at Emmanuel Free Methodist Church in Alton. Rev. Mark Scandrett will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the 5A’s.
