Janet L. Williams, 90, of Alton passed away Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Rosewood Care Center in Alton.
She was born January 9, 1928 in Louisville, IL to Fern and Ethel (Jennings) Childers. She married Jack Williams October 8, 1948 in Bethalto; he preceded her in death March 7, 2003.
Janet worked as a cashier at Rosewood Elementary and as a sales associate at JC Penney before retiring. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Rosewood Heights. In the last 18 months, she lived in Methodist Village and loved being there and cherished all the friends she made.
She is survived by two daughters, Lisa Bell of Alton and Laurie (Stan) Griffin of Waterloo, IN; grandchildren Heather Hendricks of Alton, Corey Bell of Godfrey, Sarah and Samuel Griffin of Waterloo, IN, Joshua Williams of Wood River and Lindsey Williams of Wood River; great grandchildren, Jaxson, Carter, Brody, Jayden, Kamryn, Lawson, Aylexus, Taylor, Arielle, Reaghan, Maddox and Roman; great great grandchildren, Aubrielle and Nicholas; sister, Marilyn Smith of Greenville, IL and daughter in law, Jan Williams of East Alton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Randall "R.B." Williams; granddaughter, Stacie Williams and sister, Jean Tappy.
Visitation will from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Rosewood Heights.
