James Davies

James W. Davies Jr., 82 of Godfrey, passed away Thursday April 26, 2018 at 2:30 pm at Alton Memorial Hospital.

He was born on December 23, 1935 in Harrisburg, IL the son of James W and Vivian Sutton Davies Sr.  James married BettyJane Durham on December 1, 1956 in East St. Louis. She preceded him in death on March 17, 2011.  James enjoyed fishing, camping and watching sports.  He especially loved watching football and his favorite baseball team, The St. Louis Cardinals.  Most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends.  He is survived by  a daughter, Kathy Jones (Johnny) of Godfrey, IL; a son, Rickey Davies of Woodriver, IL; eight grandchildren, Jason Davies (Sarah) of Rosewood Heights, IL, Dawn Dustman (Mike) of Alton, IL, Taylor Furlow of Bethalto, IL, Matt Davies of Cottage Hills, IL, Rachel Davies of East Alton, IL, Madison Furlow of Rosewood Heights, IL, Avery Furlow of Rosewood Heights, IL, and Preston Furlow of Rosewood Heights, IL;  10 great grandchildren, Evyn, Ethyn, Griphyn, Kane, Kaylee, Mia, Julieann, Jaidyn, Braydon, and Kori; a great-great grandson, Mason; 2 brothers, Ronnie Davies (Lonnie) of Arizona and Danny Davies (Rita) of Tennessee; several nieces and nephews.  James was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty; a daughter, Tammy Furlow; 2 brothers, Patrick and Curt Davies; 3 sisters, Betty Hubach, Vadin Elliott, and Patty Davies.  Visitation will be held Tuesday May 1, 2018 from 4:00- 8:00 pm at the Elias Kallal and Schaaf Funeral home in Godfrey.  A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday May 2, 2018 at 10 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Valhalla Cemetery in Godfrey.
