James Pfeiffer

Jerseyville | Save

James A. “Jim” Pfeiffer, 67, of Jerseyville, died at 6:06 a.m., Thursday, July 16, 2026, at Evelyn’s House in Creve Coeur, Missouri.

He was born on September 19, 1958, in Alton, Illinois, the son of Frank and Dennie (Ozee) Pfeiffer.

Jim spent many years working in retail, serving as a Store Manager for Walmart. Naturally outgoing, Jim was a people person through and through. He enjoyed socializing and visiting with others and rarely met a stranger. He was also the kind of person who was always willing to lend a hand, and if someone needed help, they could count on Jim to do whatever he could.

Away from work, Jim enjoyed car racing and spending time outdoors, particularly bass fishing. Whether he was watching the action at the racetrack, casting a line, or simply enjoying the company of those around him, Jim appreciated the simple things in life and the people with whom he was able to share them.

Surviving are his significant other, Janet Grady of Jerseyville; his adoptive son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Emily Hedden of Jerseyville; two brothers and a sister-in-law, William and Fran Pfeiffer of Dow and Patrick Minarick of Wood River; as well as a nephew, Richard Pfeiffer; and a niece,Kylie Minarick.

He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Pfeiffer; his mother and stepfather, Dennie and Frank Minarick; a son, Nathan Albert Pfeiffer; a brother, Robert Pfeiffer; a nephew Cody Minarick;as well as his beloved dogs, Dotty and Tiffany, who were surely waiting to meet him once again on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge.

Per his wishes, no services will be held.
