James “Pete” S. Basham, 67, of Bethalto, passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2021 at his residence.
He was born on August 25, 1953 in Wood River, IL, the son of James E. and Georgia (Kanady) Basham.
Pete worked for Ray Meyers Construction as a carpenter. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his three daughters, Samantha Basham of Cottage Hills, Doni Basham of Bethalto, and Carrie Banfield of Staunton; a sister, Peggy Beckham of Bethalto; a brother, Charles (Debbie) Basham of Jerseyville; and a granddaughter, Olivia Tarrant.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, James “Eddie” Basham; a nephew, Michael Scott; and a great-nephew, Michael Jacob.
Visitation will be on Thursday, February 4, 2021 from 4 to 6 pm at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. Burial will be at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
