James (Mike) Brooks, 61 passed away unexpectedly at 8:19 pm Friday, September 16, 2016 at his home.
He was born on November 10, 1954 in Alton, IL, the son of the late James A. and Joyce L. (Main) Brooks.
He worked at IVRC in Gillespie as a shop foreman. He loved Motorcycles, fishing and spending time with his family and friends, especially his best friend Trace, his yellow lab.
He is survived by his beloved Deborah Panapinto; a son Jason Brooks of Elizabethtown, IL; a daughter Jeana Brooks of Evansville, IN; a granddaughter Breanna Brooks of Evansville, IN; a beloved daughter and son-in-law Dawn and Brian Herrin of East Alton, IL and their children Eric and Zachary Herrin; a sister and brother-in-law Terry and Dennis Martin of East Moline, IL; two brothers and sister-in-laws Harold (Gene) and Linda Brooks of East Alton, IL, and Anthony (Tony) and Mary Brooks of Brighton, IL; numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother.
Visitation will be from 4 pm to 8 pm Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral in Bethalto.
Funeral will be at 10 am Wednesday September 21, 2016 at Elias, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.
