James Edward “Jim” Masiero, 60, passed away Thursday, November 23, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loved ones after a short battle with cancer.
Born Feb. 28, 1963 in Alton, he was a son of Edward and Nelda (Lawrence) Masiero.
Jim worked as a radiographer for T.E.A.M., Inc. (MQS) for over 34 years. He liked all kinds of drag racing, enjoyed his music played by K-SHE 95, and loved riding his motorcycle. He also was a talented woodworker who made his own kitchen cabinets.
Survivors include his mother, Nelda Masiero of Cottage Hills; four siblings, Janice (Jeff) Hartley of Cottage Hills, Steve (Karen) Masiero of Cottage Hills, Nancy (Ray) Ontis of Nutwood, and John (Shelley) Masiero of Godfrey; 9 nieces and nephews; and numerous great- and great-great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Masiero.
The family will hold a Celebration of Life from 12-4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 9 at the Bethalto American Legion Post #214.
