James "Jim" Audie Martin, Jr. 83, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2026 at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City.
Born February 11, 1943 in Sikeston, MO, he was the son of James Audie and Lucille (Sizemore) Martin. A U.S. Army, VietNam veteran, he had been employed in the stock room for the Olin Corporation for 43 years before retiring in 2004.
He was an avid bowler, rolling two, "300 Games" and multiple "700 Series". He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, watching St. Louis Cardinal Baseball and the UConn Lady Huskies college basketball games.
On February 12, 1974 in Bunker Hill, he married Gladys Goodman. She died February 24, 2020.
Surviving are a son, James "Audie" (Brenda) Martin of Staunton; three grandchildren, Tim, Breydon, Mady (her husband, Cody); and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; a son, Joe Martin; and a brother, David Martin.
Cremation rites were accorded.
A Memorial Visitation will be held from1-3 pm, Saturday, August 1 at Marks Mortuary in Wood River.
Private interment will be in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
