James “Jim” B. Wells, 66, passed away unexpectedly at 2:58 am on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach, MO.
He was born on June 16, 1946 in Morehouse, MO, the son of Edgar and Jewell (Pyle) Wells.
He married Jane Clark on September 3, 1966 in Alton, Illinois. She survives.
Jim was the Regional Director for the UAW Region 5. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and was a member of the Franklin Masonic Lodge #25 AF and AM.
In addition to his wife, Jane and his father, Edgar of Meadowbrook, he is survived by three daughters and their spouses, Kelly and Steve Spangler of Bethalto, Traci and Bob Seely of Bethalto, and Janie and Anil Pillai of St. Louis, MO; his beloved grandchildren, Taylor and Tyler Seely and Christian and Luz Spangler; three nephews and their spouses, Boyd and Elizabeth Wells of O’Fallon, MO, Brad and Susan Wells of Wood River and Brent and Amy Wells of East Alton. Jim will be sadly missed by many friends and relatives along with his many union brothers and sisters; and by his dear friend Bruce Lee, who was like a brother.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Jewell, his brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Sandra Wells and a nephew, Bryan Wells.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm Sunday, September 30, 2012 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. Funeral services will be at 1:30 pm on Monday, October 1, 2012 at the funeral home with Chaplain Marshall Watkins officiating.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
