James Hooker

James “Jim” Timothy Hooker, 52, of Granite City, IL passed away unexpectedly at 5:20 a.m. Thurs. July 16, 2026 in Granite City.

He was born May 9, 1974 in St. Louis, MO to the late Harrison Eugenne and Joan Marie (Otec) Hooker.

On Oct. 28, 2000, he and Rebecca J. Olsson were married in Shiloh, IL.  She survives.

Jim was a U.S. Army veteran and was employed at U.S. Steel.  He was a big family man and loved barbecuing, Christmas and making memories with his children and grandchildren.  His other love was his motorcycle, “The Mistress”.  Jim could be as stubborn as the day was long and his family loved him for it.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by 2 children, Branden Hooker and Tyfanie Hooker, 4 grandchildren, Heidi, Averianna and Aurora Coffman and Karter Hooker, 4 siblings, Mary Evans, Chery (Steve) Patrich, David Hooker and Pat (Yvonne) Hooker as well as many other extended family and close friends.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Kathy Korte nee: Hooker.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until time of services at 5:00 p.m. Tues. July 21, 2026 at Wojstrom Funeral Home & Crematory with cremation to follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association in Jim’s name.
