James Franklin “Jimi” Lewis Sr

James Franklin “Jimi” Lewis Sr. 44, of Wood River, Illinois passed away at 3:42 p.m. on Friday, February 12, 2016 at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.  He was born April 1, 1971 in Alton, Illinois.  He married May E. (Webb) Lewis on February 23, 2013 in Wood River and she survives. He was a jack of all trades and had worked in construction and as a truck driver.  Jimi loved his days playing pool, throwing darts and riding motorcycles.  He was a true prankster and enjoyed tormenting those around him.  He loved his family and cherished his beloved children.  He will be remembered for the love and special times shared with his family and many friends.  In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his mother and stepfather, Barb A. (Smith) and Michael Lawson of Wood River; his father and stepmother, Ben F. and Gina (Rigdon) Lewis of Hartford; his children, Brady Lewis and James Franklin Lewis Jr.; stepchildren, Andrew Watson, Kandice Watson, Adam Miller, Aaron Hensley and Alex Bogunia; two sisters, Christine “Poo” Russell of Alton and Leah Thompson of Roxana; a brother, Ivan Lewis of Hartford; grandmother, Roberta “Bert” Goodman of East Alton; many special aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; cousins; other extended family and many friends.

In celebration of his life, a memorial visitation will be at the Woodrow Wilson Memorial Gym in Hartford on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a memorial service at 5:00 p.m.
