James Henderson Sr

Mr. James Edward Henderson, Sr. of  Springfield, IL  entered his rest on Saturday,  May 2, 2015.  He was born on May 21, 1935 in Humphrey, Arkansas to Mr. Arthur and Mrs. Earnese Henderson.  He was the third of ten children.He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers,  Arthur Douglas, Billie,  Charles,  and a sister,  Dorothy Jean Henderson,  a daughter, Mary Jane Tejero ,  grandson, Jorge A. Tejero, Jr. and brother-in-law, Joe Madison.. To reflect many precious memories:  he leaves daughters, Warner N. Henderson of Bethalto,  Karin Roberson of Springfield, Cathy Henderson and Jewel Henderson-Owens of , CA.; sons,  James E.(Joyce) Henderson, Jr. of Great Mills, MD and Delon (Dyniece) Henderson of Woodstock, GA.;  sisters,  Mrs. Betty (James) Holloway, Godfrey, IL, Minister Joyce Y. Elliott,  Janice ( William) Watson,  Minister Ruby Madison and Marilyn Glen all of Alton;  brothers, Ernest Henderson of Indianapolis, IN, William (Barbara) Thompson and E. Bert Henderson of Alton; a  brother-in-law, Linwood R. Elliott,  son-in-law,  Jorge Tejero, Sr. of Michigan City, In.; God- daughter, Jamie  Burnett, of Springfield; 19 grandchildren, several  great grandchildren,  4 step-children,  many nieces, nephews and cousins, an aunt Sirlena Branch;  dearest  friends, Warner Jean Henderson, Bonella Towns,  Coena Henderson,  Eva Ronna,  Gertha Randle, and Wayne Coleman. Visitation will convene Friday, May 8, 2015 from 9 until time of service at 11: 00 a.m. at Morning Star Baptist Church.  Interment will follow at Upper Alton Cemetery.  Pastor Robert Freeman will officiate.
