James E. Walter, 86, passed away at 6:36 pm at Riverside Rehab and Healthcare in Alton.
He was born on August 25, 1934, the son of George and Bertha (Nalley) Walter.
James retired from Laclede Steel where he worked in the Wiremill. He enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing, golfing and woodworking.
He is survived by his niece Gloria (Riley) Mathews of Alton and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. until the service at 1:00 p.m.
A burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto, Illinois
Memorials may be made to St. Judes Children's Hospital.
