James E. Wadeking, 81, formerly of South Roxana, passed away at 9:33 p.m. Friday, March 27, 2015 at Integrity Health Care of Wood River.
Born Sept. 2, 1933 in Sorento, Ill., he was a son of Lawrence H. and Bertha E. (Schneider) Wadeking.
A U.S. Navy veteran, he worked for Olin Corp. in East Alton.
Survivors include 2 brothers, Calvin Wadeking of Washington state and Lawrence O. (Irene) Wadeking of Hartford; 3 sisters, Madge Taylor of Bethalto, Dorothy (Lynn) Walker of Athens, Tex., and Vicky Mull of Denver, Colo.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 sisters, Vera Mae Panyik, Fern McGill, and Viola Hopkins; and a brother, Charles E. Wadeking.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 31 at Paynic Home for Funerals from 10 a.m. until services begin at 11 a.m. Military honors will be performed at the funeral home.
Private burial will be at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Robings Manor Activities Department.
