James E. Hubbard Jr. was born on July 9, 1974 in Alton, Illinois to Linda and James Hubbard Sr. He departed this life on August 8, 2015. James was known to family as J.J. and to friends as Phone Man.Many people knew him as a gentle giant. He was a people person and loved everyone. He never met a stranger. He loved his hobbies as he collected cars, baseball cards, shoes and football. He also was a giver, many times coming to the aid of anyone in need.James spent 15 years of his life in Arkansas where he wedded Jackie Anderson. They were married for 12 years.He was a gentlemen of several trades. He worked as a Regional Manager for Pepsi, Manger for KFC, United Postal service and received the nickname Phone Man from being the first authorized dealer and top seller of cellular phone service in Arkansas. He also was working on his certification as a Nurse’s Aide.James loved the Lord as evidenced in his life as he was a member of Loving Jesus Ministries (Pastor Robert Parnell), Blytheville, Arkansas and he served as deacon at Agape Ministries (Pastor Albert Dyer), Blytheville, Arkansas.In addition to his parents James Hubbard Sr. and Linda Hubbard, his sister Jennifer Hubbard-Davis of Chesterfield, Virginia, his brother Courtney Hubbard of Alton, IL,  five children, Mikeith Teague, Alton; Lashawn Hubbard, Blytheville, AR, Asia Hubbard, Blytheville, AR, Na’Kaveya Westmorland, Blytheville, AR and Jayla Hubbard, Alton, Illinois. his significant other Sonya Hills, aunts, uncles, a niece, nephew, cousins and many, many friends.Visitation Saturday August 15, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 10:00 a.m. at Transformers United for Christ Ministries 1145 College Ave. AltonOverseer Lisa Hubbard EulogistBurial Upper Alton CemeteryCathy M.
