Jakob Bottoms

Jakob I. Bottoms, age 33, of Alton, passed away Friday, May 4, 2018, at Alton Memorial Hospital.

He was born August 4, 1984, in Vandalia, IL, the son of Dale Bottoms and Patricia and David Muscarella.Jakob was a member of Lifebrook Assembly of God Church in Bethalto. He loved wrestling and was a State Champion. Jakob had recently began coaching wrestling, and he was excited to share his knowledge with kids. He loved fishing, golfing and animals of all sorts. Jakob loved spending time with his family and friends.In addition to his parents; he is survived by two sons, Ira and Eli Bottoms, both of Sand Springs, OK; a brother and his wife, Josh and Olivia Bottoms; a sister, Kathryn Bottoms, and her fiancée, David Hartweger; a nephew, Ethan Hartweger; his aunts and uncles, Cole and Julie Smith, Dennis Bottoms,  and Rick and Debbie Harrelson; several cousins; and many other relatives and friends.He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Kathryn Bottoms and Ira and Edna Wardlaw; a aunt, Edna McCullough; and two cousins, Dana Farmer, and Robbie Harrelson.Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 8, 2018, from 4:00 pm until the time of service at 7:00 pm at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto with Pastor Stephen VanFossen officiating.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lifebrook Assembly of God Church or to 5A’s.An online condolence and guest book may be found at www.eliaskallalandschaaf.com .
