Jacob Rose

Jacob McLean Rose, 23, passed away on Wednesday September 7, 2016.He was born October 7, 1992, in Maryville, IL the son of Rick L. and Lynne M. (McLean) Rose.An important part of Jake's life was working at Chez Marilyn, where he enjoyed the company of his colleagues and guests. He attended UMSL, where he was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity, Pierre LaClede Honors Society, and a recipient of the Chancellor’s scholarship. Jake was a 2011 Marquette Catholic High School graduate. He had been involved in scouts since the 1^st grade and obtained the rank of Eagle Scout. He had been an active member of the Evangelical UCC Youth Group in Godfrey. Jake loved his cat, Puma, and enjoyed debating politics and religion. In addition to his parents, he is survived by 3 sisters, Theresa Rose of Atlanta, GA, Angela Rose and fiancé Madhur Khandelwal of California, Tori Rose and Cody McKay of East Alton. He is also survived by his great aunts Margaret Sons of Wood River and Merle Rose of Granite City and many dear aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Milo and Eileen Rose; maternal grandparents, Robert and Bonnie McLean; uncle and aunt, Robert Jr and Della McLean. Visitation will be 4 to 7pm on Monday, September 12, 2016 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.Funeral Services will be held at 10am on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at the funeral home with Fr. Tom Lieber as celebrant.Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Glen Carbon.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Evangelical UCC Youth Ministry in Godfrey.Online condolences and guest book may be found at www.eliaskallalandschaaf.com .
