Jacob I. Starko Dwyer, age 39 of Saint Louis, MO, died Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at Saint Louis University Hospital in Saint Louis, MO.

He was born on Sunday, June 10, 1984, in Breese, IL, the son of Alexander and Sharon (nee Marquardt) Starko.

Jacob was born in Breese, IL; grew up in Highland and graduated from Highland High School in 2002. He was a "Jack of all trades". He moved to Texas in 2009, returned to Highland and then moved to California in 2012. In 2023, he returned and lived in St. Louis. He was tragically killed February 26, 2024, by a car that struck him as he was a pedestrian walking in Cahokia Heights, IL. His body was gifted to Mid America Transplant Association, St. Louis, MO, and saved four lives with organ donation. He enjoyed video games, loved football and hockey. He was an Urban Explorer with walking and exploring everywhere.

He was preceded in death by:

Father - Alexander "Al" Starko - Died 6/02/2013

Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.

Funeral Service will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL, with Chuck Hooks, Deacon, Westgate Baptist Church, Trenton, IL, officiating.

The interment will be at Harris Cemetery in Alhambra, IL.

Memorial contributions may be made to Biddle Housing Opportunity Center.
