Jackie Harris, age 85, of Grafton, passed away Friday, March 24, 2017, at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born November 11, 1931, in Alton, the son of Charles and Hazel (Woods) Harris. He married Donna Dunbar in August of 1952 at Brown Street Baptist Church and she survives.Jack served in the US Army from 1950 until 1953. He worked for many years at Owens-Illinois Glassworks. He also owned and operated Harris Termite Pest Control. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, hunting and camping. Jack was a talented craftsman who enjoyed working with stained glass and making jewelry. He was a member of Otterville Baptist Church. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.In addition to his wife, Donna; he is survived by five children and their spouses, Ruth and Blaine Greenwood of Florida, Pamela and Wayne Hill of Anchorage, AK, Phil Harris of Alton, Marty Harris of Batchtown, and Vicky and Tim Jones of Batchtown; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.He is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Kathy; two sisters, Shirley Crepps and Virginia Brausen; a brother, Don Harris; and a grandson, Chaten Greenwood.Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 28, 2017, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton.Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 28, 2017, at 10:00 am in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Steve Pace officiating.Burial will take place at Rose Lawn Cemetery with military rites provided by Alton VFW Post #1308.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Otterville Baptist Church, Blessings Hospice, or Wounded Warriors Project.Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton is in charge of arrangements.Online condolences and guest book may be found at www.eliaskallalandschaaf.com
