Jackie Springer

Jackie G. Springer, 87, died at 1:20 p.m. on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at Jersey Community Hospital. He was born May 9, 1929 in West Alton, MO the son of Reverend Joseph Frank Springer and Mamie (Malson) Springer. He was a member of First Church of God on Elm Street in Alton, and worked for Springman Lumber Company and Federal Metalurgical in Alton and farmed for many years. On October 15, 1950 he married Pearl Edna Stamm and she survives. Also surviving are three daughters; Nancy Mobley (Larry) of Godfrey, Joannie Cassens (Mike) of Grafton and Carol Smith (Rick) of Bonne Terre, MO, and four sons: C.J. Springer (Rita Barnhart) of Godfrey, Ron R. Springer (Carolyn) of West Alton, MO, Terry L. Springer (Dr. Donna Boone-Springer) of St. Louis, MO and Jackie F. Springer of Park Hill, MO, 30 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, five brothers; Dale Springer, Don Springer, Gene Springer, Bob Springer and Karl Springer, and two sisters; Janice Samples and Judy Price. He was preceded in death by three sons; Glenn Dale Springer, David Neil Springer and Daniel E. Springer, one brother; Paul Springer, four sisters; Doris Mackie, Evelyn Perry, Stella Keene and Lois Elaine Springer and one grandchild; Faith Nicole Springer. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 16, 2016 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at First Church of God on Elm Street in Alton with Reverend Randy Butler Officiating. Burial will be at Brighton Cemetery.
