Izella Fuhler

Izella C. Fuhler, 96, passed away on Saturday December 23, 2017 at Calhoun Nursing and Rehab in Hardin.

She was born on June 4, 1921 in Golden Eagle, IL, the daughter of Jason and Caroline (Kulp) Hetzer

Izella married Henry Fuhler on May 11, 1946 in Brussels and he preceded her in death on January 2, 2013.

She was a member of St Mary’s Catholic Church in Brussels. Izella loved quilting, being outdoors, and she loved animals.

Izella is survived by her son, Wayne Fuhler; two sisters-in-law, Marilyn and Delores Fuhler; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Fuhler; her parents, Jason and Caroline (Kulp) Hetzer; one brother Elmer (Mary) Hetzer; one half-brother, Harry (Dorothy) Kulp; four brothers-in-law, Joe (Elda) Fuhler, Herman Fuhler, Alloys Fuhler, and Charles Fuhler; and five sisters-in-law, Annie (Ed) Jacobsmeyers, Agnes Fuhler, Theresa (Russell) Droege, Cecilia (Leo) Rose, and infant Mary Fuhler.

Visitation will be from 8 to 9:30 am Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Gress, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Brussels.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brussels with Fr. Don Roberts as celebrant.

Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Brussels.

Memorials may be made to the St. Mary’s Catholic Church Re-Building Fund, St. Mary’s Catholic School, St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, or South Calhoun Ambulance.

Gress, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Brussels is in charge of the arrangements.
