Inez S. Bextermueller, 97, passed away at 9:36 pm on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at her home with her family by her side.
She was born on August 20, 1921 in Alton, the daughter of the late Henry and Inez (Farber) Timmermeier.
Inez married Bernard M. Bextermueller in Santa Monica, CA on July 22, 1942. He preceded her in death on January 19, 1999.
She was a life-long member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in West Alton, MO. Inez was a member of the VFW Women Auxiliary in Orchard Farm and the Alton Eagles Auxiliary. She enjoyed bowling, sewing and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by 5 children; Sandy Ray of Red Bud, IL, Elaine Yarde of Marietta, GA, Daniel (Robert Eilers) Bextermueller of St. Louis, Donna (Kevin) Bell of St. Charles, MO, Lisa Witt of Wentzville, MO; 1 sister, Vida Westenkuehler of St. Louis; 15 grandchildren, Kim (Larry) Brunstein, Jeff (Dotti Davis) Ray, Kara (Dave) Hagen, Heather (Brad) Middendorf, Kristi (Christian) Orr, Michelle (Nick) LaLonde, Erin (Adrian) Stopke, Adam (Holly) Bextermueller, Drew (Shandra) Bextermueller, Brandi (Cody) Morgan, Dawn (Nick) Frehner, Celeste (Jacob Sikes) Wood, Tiffany (Jim) Omohundro, Sarah (Robbie) Hamer, Jacob (Ashley) Witt; 35 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband she is preceded in death by a sister, Pearl LeClaire and 1 brother, Leslie "Bud" Timmermeier.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 pm on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at Staten-Fine Funeral Home in Alton.
Funeral Service will be held at 10 am on Friday, October 26, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Church in West Alton, MO with Deacon Bill Twellman officiating.
Memorials may be made to The Alzheimer's Association.
