Ina Marie (Downs) Adams, 96, died at 2:45 p.m., Friday, May 24, 2013 at Rosewood Care Center in Alton.
She was born on February 19, 1917, in Jersey County, and was one of two daughters born to the late Frank and Electa (Franz) Downs.
She graduated from Jersey Township High School. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Chirst and gifted in the art of croshaying and knitting. In her later years she enjoyed reading a nice book or magazine and the occasional trip to the casino with her children, always sure to have her jar of nickels in hand. Ina was devoted to her family and enjoyed time spend with each and every one of them, planning countless family reunions until her health began to decline and she was no longer able.
She married Oren D. Adams on November 25, 1940 in St. Louis, MO and the two settled in Alton raising their children and sharing 53 years of marriage before his death on August 22, 1994.
Surviving are a son, William Adams and his wife Dolores of Marion; two daughters and their spouses, Mary and Larry Oseland of Alton and Doris Adams of East Alton;10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a step-son Leroy Adams and a sister Nina Murray.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Jerseyville Church of Christ with Ina's nephew Rev. Glenn Murray officiating. Burial will take place at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville.
