Imogene "Imy" Ahlers, 86, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at her home with her family at her side.
Born June 19, 1934 in Fort Knox, KY, she was a daughter of George H. and Grace (Moore) Lloyd.
She married the Rev. Allen D. Ahlers Dec. 19, 1959 in Radcliff, KY. He preceded her in death Aug. 23, 2003.
Imy was a registered nurse for over 46 years. She worked 35 of those years at Alton Memorial Hospital. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church, Bethalto, serving in the kitchen ministry for many years. She also played piano as part of an area nursing home ministry.
She and her husband were parents of three sons, Randy (Muni) Ahlers, Terry (Cindy) Ahlers, and Doug (Lori) Ahlers; grandparents of five, Cory Ahlers, Rachel (Daniel) Leininger, Andrew (Michelle) Ahlers, Sarah (Earon) Lasswell, and Tori (David) Spaulding; and great grandparents to Rowen and Eden Lasswell.
Imy had five siblings, Ruby Ibbotson, Alta Vanoy, Harrison Lloyd, Bobby Lloyd, and Buddy Lloyd.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, private graveside services will be held at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens.
