Ilah Gail Davis, 73, died after a courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, March 3, 2024 surrounded by family. Born November 7, 1950 in Alton, she was the daughter of Earl and Helen (Godfrey) Weilmuenster. On March 20, 1970 she married the love of her life Michael E. Davis in Godfrey. Ilah was beautician for many years in the Alton area. Most recently she was a bus driver for Apple Bus Company transporting Riverbend Head Start children. Along with her husband, she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Jason Roloff of Brighton and a son and daughter-in-law, Myles and Melody Davis of Godfrey. Three grandchildren, Brianna Roloff and Blythe Roloff of Brighton and Cade (Cortnee) Davis of Venice, Florida. Two step-granddaughters Camryn Malone and Madyson Malone. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Robert “Chuck” and Jeanine Weilmuenster of Anna, IL and three nieces Becky (Damon) Edwards, Melanie (Kerrie) Glenn and Valerie Conner. Ilah’s greatest joy was being with her grandchildren and supporting their activities. She loved going boating & loved working with her flowers. She was also a dedicated volunteer at the Alton-Wood River Sportsman’s Club. Visitation for Ilah will be from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2024 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where a memorial service will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2024. Reverend Jim Thatcherth will officiate. Burial will be at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto. A celebration of life will begin at the Alton-Wood River Sportsman’s Club starting at 1:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the OSF Moeller Cancer Center in Alton or the Alton- Wood River Sportsman’s Club.
