Ida Lorene Foster, 97, passed away at 10:30 p.m. Saturday, December 24, 2016 at Bethalto Care Center.
Born July 29, 1919 in Eldorado, Ill., she was a daughter of Bert E. and Grace (Rapp) Beard.
She married Roy Foster in Wood River in 1953. He preceded her in death in 1981.
She was a member of Cornerstone Church in Bethalto.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Cobb of East Alton; 2 grandchildren, Robert E. Cobb Jr. and his wife Marklyn of St. Charles, Mo. and Brenda Collier and her husband Lee, Sr. of East Alton; 5 great grandchildren, Lee Collier, Jr., Kayla Cobb, Greg Collier, Brandon Cobb, and Nathan Collier; a sister, Norma May and a brother, Donald Beard, both of Troy, Ill.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son-in-law, Robert E. Cobb, Sr.; two sisters, Irene Aldridge and an infant sister Juanita Beard; and two brothers, Arthur and Gene Beard.
Visitation will be Thursday at Paynic Home for Funerals from 10 a.m. until services begin at 11 a.m.
Burial will follow at Wanda Cemetery in South Roxana.
