Ida Jane "Sally" Simpson, 88, passed into the open, loving arms of our Lord Jesus on Thursday, January 31, 2019.
She was born in Alton on April 9, 1930, the daughter of Oscar and Nellie (Keffer) Keller.
On September 14, 1947 in Alton, she married Thomas W. Simpson.
Sally enjoyed bowling and dancing and was a long-time member of Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church in Alton.
Surviving are a son, Charles Simpson, Sr.; two sisters, Betty Cunningham, Dolly (Matt) Chmielewski; two brothers, Bill (Beverly) Keller, Pete (Nancy) Keller; grandchildren,Cari Atkinson, Cindy (Robert) Miller, Tracy (Michael) Lang, Angie (Paul) Inman, Rachel Zimmerman, Jennifer (Doug) VanWatermeulen, Charles (Diana) Simpson; 17 great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
Her parents; husband; two sons, Thomas David and Danny Lee Simpson; and sisters, Diana Grace and Gloria Gean preceded her in death.
A Celebration of Life memorial visitation will be from 9 am until time of service at 10:30 am, Friday, February 8 at Marks Mortuary in Wood River. Pastor Randy Fischer will officiate.
Interment will be in Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
