Hughey Michael “Big Mike” Thrash, 67, died at 5:55 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Alton. Born August 25, 1945 in Nacogdoches, TX, he was the son of Hughey Jefferson and Willie Lucille (Talmage) Thrash. He retired as a roadmaster for Union Pacific in October 2006 after 27 years of service. On March 20, 1963 he married Annette Means in Center, TX. She survives. He was a loving husband and loved by all.
Along with his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Dannette Hawkins (Paul) of Alton, Stacie Tinney (A.L. “Lynn”) of Plattsburg, MO, two sons, Hughey Michael Thrash Jr. of Nacogdoches, TX, and Shawn Thrash (Tamara) of Alton, seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and one sister, Susie Johnson of Nacogdoches, TX.
He was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, James Johnson and Larry L. Means.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Nacogdoches, TX.
