Howard Edwin Miller, 82, died at 12:35 p.m. Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at OSF St. Anthony's Healthcare Center in Alton. Born July 18, 1938 in Granite City, he was the son of Stephen and Lola (Stogsdill) Miller. Mr. Miller served in the U.S. Army and retired in 1999 as an electrical engineer for McDonell Douglas. On May 11, 1962 he married the former Mynerva 'Dody' Eldora Parker in East St. Louis, IL. She survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Nancy Shook (Paul) of Alton and Dody Gazda (Matt) of Carlinville, seven grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, with 2 on the way. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Wesley Miller, Dale Miller and Herbert Miller and a grandchild, Paul Shook III. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Burial will be private at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
