Hilda M. “Margie” Reese, 82, passed away at 1:45 pm Monday, March 26, 2012 at Alton Memorial Hospital in Alton.
She was born in Charleston West VA., on March 19, 1930.
She married Harry T. “Pee-Wee” Reese on October 1, 1951 in Charleston West VA. He passed away September 6, 1995.
Margie managed the Glass House Tavern for 13 years making friends with a lot of the people who worked at Owens Illinois Glass. She then was employed at Beverly Farms in Godfrey for 18 years as a care giver. After retirement Margie wanted to give back to her community and did volunteer work at AMH as a VNA for several years. She enjoyed cooking and going to all her families events, her family was her life and she especially loved spending time with her grand and great grandchildren.
She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas H. & Nancy Reese of Godfrey, Timothy W. & Tammy Reese of Godfrey and Dale R. & Samantha Reese of Alton; seven grandchildren, Shane, Todd, Trisha, Kerri Jo, Terra, Grace and Jacob and nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one daughter Sharon (Reese) Rich and one infant daughter Brenda Reese.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at Staten-Fine Funeral Home.
Visitation continue services from 12 noon until service time at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at Staten-Fine Funeral Home with Fr. Steve Pohlman officiating.
Burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
