Hewitt Robertson

Hewitt A. "Bud" Robertson, 92, passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2025 at Christian Extended Care.

He was born on November 1, 1933 in Alton, Illinois to William and Ola (Langacker) Robertson.

He married the love of his life, Barbara Radliff, in 1953. She preceded him in death on May 7, 2021.

Bud was a proud Korean War Army Veteran, serving as a Paratrooper in the First Airborne. Following his service, he worked as an adjuster for Olin Corporation for over 30 years.

Bud was a lifetime member of the Moose Lodge and even reached Pilgrim Degree. He was a member of the Freemasons for many years, as well as a member of the Alton VFW Post. In his free time, Bud enjoyed golfing (playing until he reached 90 years old) and woodworking. He will be missed by his many loved ones.

He is survived by his children, Deborah (Don) Lovell of Alton, William (Terry) Robertson of Hartford, and Max Robertson of Alton; five grandchildren, Doug Lovell, Tina (Kurt) Schutz, Tony (Jodie) Muffo, Kelli (Ryan) Angleton, and Trenton Robertson; and ten great-grandchildren, Cody (Hannah), Kylie, Caden, Bresies, Novella, Elam, Slade, Ryli, Meeka, and Ryker; as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and his parents, Bud was preceded in death by his siblings, Betty Sheff, Amy Taylor, Ann Panapinto, and Joe Robertson.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 2, 2025 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey from 4pm to 7pm. Funeral services will be held at 10am on Saturday, January 3, 2025 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey. Burial will take place at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto immediately following services.

Memorials are suggested to the Alton VFW Post 1308.
