Herman Ray Turnbeaugh, 86, died at 1:29 a.m. Monday, February 27, 2017 at Alton Memorial Hospital. Born September 13, 1930 in Wood River, he was the son of Herman Roy and Genevia (McGarvey) Turnbeaugh. He retired from McDonnell Douglas in 1986 after 33 years as an inspector. He was a member of Brown Street Baptist Church and the Wood River Masonic Lodge 1062 AF & AM. He married Dorothy H. Medlock on August 21, 1951. She preceded him in death on June 30, 1983. He married Mildred McClintock on March 3, 1985 and she preceded him in death on April 30, 1998. Surviving is a daughter, Joy Turnbeaugh (Barbara Steiger) of Collinsville, a step-daughter, Pamela (David) Pierce of St. Louis, MO, and a step-daughter-in-law, Valerie McClintock of Alton. He was preceded in death by two sons, Scot and Russell Turnbeaugh, a step-son, Lee McClintock and a half brother, Sam Turnbeaugh. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 12:00 noon Friday, March 3, 2017 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Reverend Aaron Love will officiate.
