Herbert Jack Peel, 48, died Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at Bria of Wood River. He was born April 8, 1977 in Columbus, OH, the son of James Peel (Linda Overstreet-Peel) of Bethalto, IL and Thersa Hale.
Herbert graduated from Alton High School and Lewis and Clark Community College. He had worked at Challenge Unlimited in Alton.
Besides his parents he is survived by four step sisters, Tracey Lamere of Alton, Amanda Overstreet of Alton, Alexis Overstreet (Jordan) of Carlinville, Abigail Overstreet (Behrooz)of CA and one step brother, Philip Jackson (Angela) of East Alton and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one step brother, Neil Hale.
A memorial service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at LoveJoy United Presbyterian Church in Wood River. A reception will follow in the church fellowship hall after the service.
Burial will be private.
