Herbert H. Obermiller, 82, died at 9:58 p.m. Saturday, December 22, 2012 at his home. Born May 12, 1930 in Miami, FL, he was the son of Edward W. and Tillie (Reuter) Obermiller. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Bethalto and retired as a foreman for Clark Oil in Wood River. On December 16, 1975 he married the former Vicki S. Jacobs in Alton. She survives. Also surviving is a son, Jerome R. Obermiller of East Alton, and a sister-in-law, Christine K. Jacobs of Roxana. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward Charles and Calvin Obermiller. A memorial service will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 12, 2013 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Bethalto. Reverend Mark Hoffeber will officiate. Burial will be private at Alton Cemetery.
