Henry Jr

Bethalto | Save

On Thursday, February 27, 2020, Henry (Heinie) Kruse, Jr., age 92, entered the gates of heaven to spend eternity with his Lord and Savior.

Henry grew up on his family farm, where he lived nearly his entire life. On June 24, 1950, he married Eileen Feilbach, who survives. God blessed them with three daughters and two sons. Henry loved his family, and lived life to the fullest. He knew no greater joy than when the family would gather together at the farm. His passion was farming, but he also enjoyed fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, card playing, traveling, bowling, dancing, and joking. He loved a good party.

Henry served his country in the United States Navy Reserves for 5 years, and was a member of Amvets Post #55. He worked as an electrician for Central Electric in Alton, and was a proud member of IBEW Local 649 for 71 years. Henry was a retired member of the Prairietown Volunteer Fire Department and also a member of St. John's UCC in Midway.

In addition to his wife, Henry is survived by children Judy (Lawrence) Henschen of Alhambra, CoAnn Connoyer of Midway, Michael (Vicki) Kruse of Midway, and Donna (Jim) Stack of Collinsville, nine grandchildren and their spouses, twenty great-grandchildren, brother Don (Nancy) Kruse of Moro, sisters Anna Mae (Hilmer) Schoenbaum of Moro and Shirley (Cecil) Thomason of Bismarck, Arkansas, sister-in-law Darlene Kruse of Alton, and many nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Minnie Kruse, son Rick Kruse, daughter-in-law Gail Kruse, son-in-law Dan Connoyer, granddaughter Kimberly Stack, brother Floyd Kruse, and sister Dorothy Gvillo.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 5, 2020, at St. John's UCC in Midway.

Visitation will continue from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 6, 2020, at St. John's UCC in Midway with Pastor Lori Schafer officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto, Illinois.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John's UCC Church-Midway or to the Prairietown Volunteer Fire Department.
