Henry “Frank” Roe Sr., 71 passed away at 11:31 pm Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
He was born in Bollinger, MO on March 15, 1946, son of the late Truman and Ruby (Long) Roe.
Frank married Judith M. (Ross) on October 15, 1966 in Meadowbrook, IL. She survives.
Frank serviced his country in the United States Army serving 2 tours in the Vietnam War from 1964 until retiring in 1984; he then in 1990 went to work for the Olin Corp a truck driver until retiring in 2012. He was a member of Bethalto AF & AM Masonic Lodge #406. He enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals and politics on TV and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Judith, two daughters and a son, Tammy Smith of Wood River, Sherry (Danny) Ingram of Moro and Henry Jr. (Gail) Roe of Meadowbrook, 12 grandchildren, Ashley, Angel, Henry III, Kelsi, Michaela, Douglas, Chris, Jackie, Shandi, Candy Jo, Tiffany and Kenneth and Nemours great grandchildren.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents Truman and Ruby Roe, his three brothers Carl, Donny and Bill Roe, his three sisters Dorothy Estes, Jean Helden, and Jane Silas.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf in Bethalto, with a Masonic Rites service at 7 pm by the Bethalto Masonic Lodge # 406.
Funeral services will be at 11 am on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at the funeral home with Pastor Terry McKinzie officiating.
Burial will be at Woodland Hills Cemetery in Wood River IL.
