Henry Eugene 'Gene' Blaine, 87, passed away 2:44 p.m, Sunday, October 30, 2016 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
Born on August 30, 1929 in Metropolis, he was the son of Floyd L. Sr., and Mary (Clausen) Blaine.
A U.S. Army and Navy veteran, Gene served as President of the Winchester Division of the Olin Corporation in East Alton for over 30 years before retiring in 1986.
He is survived by a son, Roger (Susan) Blaine of Ooltewah, TN; two daughters, Gail Blaine Hansard of Jacksonville, FL, Carol Blaine (John) Bloss of Wildwood, MO; four grandchildren, Angela Hansard, Stephanie Blaine, Lauren and Lindsay Bloss; and a brother, Floyd l. Blaine, Jr. of Godfrey.
His parents and a brother, John Blaine preceded in death.
A Celebration of Life Memorial visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Thursday at Marks Mortuary in Wood River. Pastor Chris Nation will officiate.
