Helen Bounds

JERSEYVILLE -    Helen Louise Bounds, 91, died at 1:15 a.m., Saturday, April 22, 2017 at the Jerseyville Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.She was born in Hartford, Il. on March 27, 1926, the third of eleven children born to the late William Henry and Viola E. (Grover) Kuehnel.Helen grew up in a large loving family, and throughout her life, she placed her family first.  She was a caring and devoted wife and mother, and was blessed  to have her loving grandchildren in her life.She married Vernon C. Bounds on Sept. 21, 1944 in Jerseyville, and they shared nearly 31 years together before his death on March 26, 1975.Surviving are her three children and their spouses, Shirley and David Plummer of Jerseyville, Charles and Jeri Bounds of Otterville, and Lisa and Sam Kallal of Keyport, Wa.; six grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; three sisters, Edith Scott of Gibson City, Opal Kallal of Jerseyville, Virginia Myers of Cottage Hills; six brothers, Thomas Kuehnel of Jerseyville, Eugene Kuehnel of Godfrey, Herman "Jake" Kuehnel, Robert Kuehnel, William Kuehnel and James Kuehnel all of Jerseyville.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Kuehnel.Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday.   Her brother in law, Rev. Clyde Myers will officiate.She will be laid to rest alongside her husband at the Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.Memorials may be given to the Delhi Baptist Church.
