Helen Elizabeth Walk, 88, passed away at 11:25 pm Saturday, October 17, 2015 at St. Anthony’s Healthcare in Alton.
She was born on November 19, 1926 in Dahlgren, IL, the daughter of Frank and Mary Magdaline (Anselment) Rost.
Helen was a Resident Hall Director at Illinois College for 11 years, retiring in 1993. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She was the Past Treasurer in the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Palmyra as well as activities director for the Silver Strands in Palmyra. She was a former member of the Modesto Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Robert Lee Maulding of East Alton and Boyce Alan Walk of St. Louis, MO; her sisters, Eleanor Rankin of Carmi, IL, Mary Lou Brown of Phoenix, AZ and Floann Reyling of McLeansboro, IL and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and three brothers, Leo Rost, John Rost and Edward Rost and two sisters, Lucille Allsbury and Irene Kreher.
Visitation will be 10:00 am until services at 12 noon Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
